When I bought some new CDG2 over the weekend, bird bung in some quality samples. It's something called Carthusia I Profumi Di Capri. Two scents that are gorgeous.

I've sampled recently:

Sel de Vetiver- Can't describe the smell, but it's a real grower. Starts off really strong, and thought I'd have to get rid before going out, but dies down and comes back in waves over the day. Read one review that says it's like salt drying on skin….It's quite fresh anyway and interested to see what a spray would be like.
Patouli Patch- Like the above, came on really strong, and had no idea what the hell I was smelling, but dies down into a nice, subtle peachy, vanilla smell. Not as feminine as it sounds. Still, fainter than Vetiver.
CDG Hinoki- Really nice and Piney, but doesn't seem that long lasting. Again, spray might be better.
CDG Kyoto- Really liked this. Quite piney and woody (surprise). Think I like this kind of thing. Probably pick up a full bottle.
Guerlain's Vetiver- Soapy. Didn't think much of this, but surprisingly got comments.

Also got some CB I hate Perfume samples still to try and a full bottle of something from DS & Durga to come.

im telling ya, im telling ya all with a serious voice….get on that 'dirty english'…forget the velour tracksuit connatations (tho thinking on it they were quite sexy when they first come out) and get on the best smell in long.

My current ones…

1. Marc Jacobs Basil
2. Prada pour homme
3. CDG 2

My wants…

1. Givenchy Play
2. Viktor and Rolf Antidote
3. Can't remember the name/brand - but you can have your own customised scent made in store. Saw it in Barneys in Vegas, then saw an advert in the window of Liberty on Sat.

Trying Terres D'Hermes today. Hate these sample cap things though. Probably didn't put enough on as I can barely smell it now, but really nice going on.

If you can find it get into the Tom Ford Privee colection , Tobacco Vanille is the fucking business I tells thee .

Also if you take an interst in niche fragrances try http://www.lessenteurs.com/ they based in Belgravia , but send out samples for a couple of quid a time
