does it work well? laggy? or ok?

I find sport tends to have lagging/quality issues but films and tv are great.

may try the firebox then cos can hardwire that with ethernet cable may help

cheers live in hk and the tv is rubbish so that should help

Firebox is very good, just released the 4K one if that floats your boat. For live sports you can get very good streams but sources seem to change quite often. Best way to keep up is following Fb pages

any good TV websites without ad's / subscription?

Been using IMTV.cc which is brilliant (now subscription) but for the next couple of weeks need something to tide over until Sky and a Firestick arrives.

This guys website is really good for all things Kodi/XBMC, very straight forward and easy to follow with screen shots of each stage of the process.

Sorry only just seen this, it's really straightforward to set up, don't mug yourself off by buying one with the addons preinstalled for £60. Addons get taken down every so often so it will require some maintenance too.

For Amazon Firestick use this wizard to set everything up once Kodi is installed. Build is well set up for Firestick so won't slow it down and clog it up and is very nice too. Everything is there that most people will need.

Firestick you can watch paid for content like Prime/Netflix etc. Play games, music, photoviewer etc. Basically turns any TV into a smart TV, need HDMI and a wifi connection tho.
Adding Kodi allows you to stream thousands of movies/tv shows hosted on the net, livestream sports etc. Can also stream your own content to it.

Setting up with Kodi and decent add ons can be done within around 30mins. If in UK using a VPN will allow access to more streams as ISPs are blocking a lot of content.
