Depends on what you want. Eg. Firestick is great if you want something portable and cheap but not great technical spec so a bit slower between menus etc and needs maintenance (clearing cache etc), it's wifi only too so if your wifi speeds are significantly slower than your wired connection speeds you might get buffering. 4K Fire TV is about the best bang for buck bet according many sources. You could also go for the very top spec Nvidia Shield which is double the price. Other options are the boxes from ebay around £40 which I don't have much experience of, or you could build your own with a raspberry pi if you're that way inclined.
I'm on Sky fibre broadband and have no issues stremaing HD content on a firestick (I use The Beast build) - it's a good way to see what it is all about for £35 and then decide if you want to upgrade - you'll be able to shift thestick for what you paid if it's preloaded with Kodi and a build.
