Is it just about people rebuilding their lives after Katrina or something? I didn't really get what the hook of the show was supposed to be, nothing from the trailer made it stand out for me.

Just watched the first episode of Treme twice, already sucked me in like the wire did. Apparently HBO has already ordered a 2nd series of it

Is it just about people rebuilding their lives after Katrina or something? I didn't really get what the hook of the show was supposed to be, nothing from the trailer made it stand out for me.
^ Its similar to The Wire in that its got a load of loosely connected characters focussed round the culture of New Orleans, some of which i wasn't overly bothered about but some i really wanted to know more about and see what happened to them, the musicians+ mardi gras chief esp. I imagine as it goes on it'll do something similar to the Wire and examine the failures and mistakes of instituitions on an american city, disaster response/rebuilding as opposed to the war on drugs. I guess its a harder sell without the Cops vs Corner Boys hook that the Wire had but i really enjoyed it

dunno if you've seen undeclared.. bit of a follow on from apatow and quite funny in parts.
watched la la land with marc wooton..
some of it is hilarious, love gary garner..'i'm big news, i'm like the next big thing you aint never heard of yet'. the type of guy who thinks he knows everything about anything. reminds me of someone, cant put my finger on it though.
