Score Card:

Fightmetric:

http://blog.fightmetric.com/2012/02/condit-vs-diaz-official-ufc-statistics.html

I'd rather see Condit fight the winner of Sanchez/Ellenberger or even Koscheck like he was supposed to originally at 143.

Also, after seeing Condit win like that.. my desire for GSP/Diaz has really been diminished. GSP would do the same thing with a takedown mixed in here and there.

I didnt mean it was a terrible decision morning mist, more that it will be the most infamous and talked about decision.

Seriously, what an idiot Laughing out loud

I heard rumors about Diaz has a medical marijuana pass. However, marijuana possession is illegal in the United States. Federal law supersedes local law so California's medical marijuana law is actually illegal, but Californian courts have determined that local police have no jurisdiction to arrest anyone for it and it is so below the radar that if the feds got involved it would be a PR nightmare so it is not like the FBI is going to shut it down anytime soon

Bottom line since the fight happened in Nevada Nick Diaz has no prescription.

He does have a medical mj pass, its not a rumour. He could haves tested false positive too, but its not likely. Either way this will probably make his retirement rant a reality. Likely 12 month ban, have to rehabilitate and suck up to the comission and that cunt keith kizer if he wants his licence back.

Don't think Diaz will quite understand the concept of 'sucking up'! Laughing out loud

To have weed banned as a PED for fighting is ridiculous!

It is ridiculous, as much as I didn't feel Diaz warranted a rematch I would have loved the opportunity to see how it would play out. I feel he be back though in due time.

His last positive test
Wiki wrote: On April 10, 2007, the Nevada State Athletic Commission announced that Diaz failed the drug test that was taken shortly before his win over Takanori Gomi, testing positive for marijuana. The NSAC declared the fight a "No Contest" and suspended him for 6 months with a fine of 20% of his earnings ($3,000) won from the fight against Gomi. The Commission felt that the result of Diaz's THC test, an enormous 175, was a contributing factor in his performance during the fight. Commission Chairman Dr. Tony Alamo said that while a result of 15 is considered positive, the NSAC has a threshold of 50 for athletes. He also believes they "feel very comfortable that everyone that tests positive in Nevada is truly positive."
Laughing out loud

Wiki wrote: Dr. Alamo went on to say, "Mr. Diaz was 145. This creates a unique situation. I was there at this fight and believe that you were intoxicated and… that it made you numb to the pain. Did it help you win? I think it did." Despite Diaz being surrounded by other athletes and video cameras for several hours before the fight, Alamo gave no explanation for why he believed Diaz had used marijuana in the hours preceding the event. Diaz himself dismissed the assertion that marijuana was a Performance-enhancing drug, or that he was smoking it prior to the fight

Makes about as much sense as Cocaine being performance enhancing in football I suppose

Edit - Was it not the Gomi fight he pulled off the gogoplata Eek

The fact they even test for cannabis is weak as shit.

Nick Diaz obviously has issues.

Indeed.

Its a shame, since Diaz has always managed to control his anxiety enough in previous fights to be able to get out there and do the job without testing positive. Although undoubtedly it was a more anxious situation this time, him and his camp were in no doubt whatsoever about the result of him testing positive would be, mores than most fighters, because he's done it before. They broke the rules, they knew they were breaking the rules, they got busted for it and they suffer the consequences. I have a great deal of sympathy for Diaz and his problems, but have no sympathy for the consequences of what happens as a result of this, because he has blew the exact opportunity he's been spending his time whining about.

Correct me if I'm wrong but he uses weed to self medicate for his anxiety.
