some of you were talking about UFC salaries..

The California State Athletic Commission has released the official fighter salaries for UFC 76. As always these salaries do not include all money made by the fighters and are simply the amounts Zuffa is required to report to the sanctioning commission.

In addition to the salaries below $40,000 awards for the event were also handed out. Tyson Griffin and Thiago Tavares took home the bonus for “Fight of the Night” and Forrest Griffin was awarded “Submission of the Night”. No “Knockout of the Night” was awarded as there were none on the card.

Here are the salaries as reported to the CSAC:

Keith Jardine def. Chuck Liddell

* Jardine: $14,000 ($7,000 base, $7,000 win bonus)
* Liddell: $500,000

Forrest Griffin def. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua

* Griffin: $44,000 ($22,000 base, $22,000 win bonus)
* Rua: $150,000

Jon Fitch def. Diego Sanchez

* Fitch: $44,000 ($22,000 base, $22,000 win bonus)
* Sanchez: $22,000

Lyoto Machida def. Kazuhiro Nakamura

* Machida: $50,000 ($25,000 base, $25,000 win bonus)
* Nakamura: $20,000

Tyson Griffin def. Thiago Tavares

* Griffin: $24,000 ($12,000 base, $12,000 win bonus)
* Tavares: $9,000

Rich Clementi def. Anthony Johnson

* Clementi: $24,000 ($12,000 base, $12,000 win bonus)
* Johnson: $5,000

Jeremy Stephens def. Diego Saraiva

* Stephens: $6,000 ($3,000 base, $3,000 win bonus)
* Saraiva: $3,000

Christian Wellisch def. Scott Junk

* Wellisch: $14,000 ($7,000 base, $7,000 win bonus)
* Junk: $4,000

Matt Wiman def. Michihiro Omigawa

All the cards in the uk have been pretty weak in my opinion. I hate having to watch all the same rubbish English fighters on the under card aswell.

Only decent people at UFC 80 are BJ and Stout, rest are rubbish. Lot of same fighters in the UK again, such as Sakara, Yawn

Liddell is fighting Wanderlei Silva, and Matt Hughes Vs GSP on the 29th of December. Both are pretty big fights

Who saw 79?
Hughes got his ass handed to him by GSP.
The axe murderer was a bit of a letdown.

That wasnt even an upset for most MMA fans. And to be fair to him, in the circus that ensued Kimbo stayed respectful and came across as a nice dude.

Yeah I just meant the win wasnt an upset. The 14 seconds was weird for several reasons, firstly Kimbo has a chin and can take a punch and also it was a pretty soft strike, he was on one leg leaning back etc.
I had to watch it over and over cause was convinced Kimbo took a dive, but then again that would be the LAST thing Elite XC want right now.

wasn't the strike on the eye? it seemed like a jab more than anything.
i think the ref may have jumped in a little prematurely.
