Could only stretch to a pair of Hockneys as my first purchase but still pleased! Not sure if FBTs are too out there and Virgils/Grizzlys are £££. Good prices at Caliroots and Le Rayon Frais, as well as The Bureau, if you are looking for other things.

I assume Mr P will go down again tomorrow?

Size up to most Visvim. I’m a UK9 in Nike and US10 in current FBTs for reference.

Cheers - UK9/US10 basically means TTS, right? Also maybe stupid question, but is that same rule for both the suede and leather versions?

Yes I would say so. I had to sell my US9 leather ones as they were too small, bought the suede in US10 and they fit well.

Picked up some newer FBTs. It is absolutely shocking comparing them side-by-side to my FBTs from 8-9 years ago. Older ones feel much more solid/sturdy in their construction, thicker material, and there's lining to support the outer. New ones feel paper thin and I'm fairly certain I could tear them like paper Laughing out loud

^ Yeah would agree with that. Had a feel of the suede FBTs that been hitting the sales recently, and really thought they weren't all that. Didn't realise they had worsened in quality, just felt like a very average suede and 100% not worth RRP.

I just can't believe how flimsy they are compared to my old ones. Upped their prices and reeled in the materials, which is nuts for a product that is £700rrp. Increasing margin over maintaining a quality product - damn shame Puzzled

I think it might depend on the model of FBT. Either way thr price is still mental

They’ve started using deerskins recently haven’t they? That is characteristically a thinner suede/leather than bovine but strong
Previously they used (and still do) suede from Steads in the uk - same as Clarks, trickers etc

I believe they used to use elk, which is more durable than deer so definitely a step down. Been out of the vis game for ages, though, so no idea what's going on these days.

C-stylez is right in regards to model. My old ones are FBT Prime I think, which seems to be a much higher quality model. My new ones are just FBT Deers or something. No idea what the different models mean.
