CSB - Went to the Vis store in Santa Fe today - thought it only had women’s stuff but had a decent selection of men’s too. The bloke who runs it was away (I get the impression it doesn’t get a lot of foot fall) but I was in another store (Ship Rock) that deals in a lot of Navajo stuff buying a rug - turned out they were mates with Hiroki and looked after the Vis store when the manager was away so they opened the store especially for me, which was nice of them.

Did you buy anything?

Not a thing… I did buy a rug from Ship Rock though (the guys who opened the store). I did try to buy Hiroki’s book (they didn’t have any in stock other than the display copy which they couldn’t sell) and a candle (they couldn’t find it on the stock system so they didn’t know how much to charge me).

They were really cool to be fair - I told them I wasn’t really looking to buy anything and was only wanting to pop in for a spot of window shopping so not to bother, but they insisted it was no trouble (it’s just down the street from Ship Rock).

I did not. $6.5k is a bit out of my price range in any event!

Ouch. Might look at getting it repaired, or sell it cheap and look out for a new one.
