There was that interview where Hiroki explained that it was his no-compromises approach to manufacturing that was the reason for the cost.

The pool of artisans that have the skills and tooling he needs is getting smaller and smaller.

I picked up an e-cat the other day, the quality is great and the bag is in brilliant shape considering the age.

Some of the old visvim pieces of that era can't be beaten.

The plastic clips were shite on e-cats also the button on the strap. Mines didn’t break but so many on eBay at that time sold with snapped clips.

It's a Christmas miracle!

And it's still up for sale.

Funnily enough all the snaps on mine are great and the plastic buckle isn't sticky. Lucky I guess!

£ is worthless nowadays Sad

Wait until we actually fully leave the EU. Then it’s really going to take a massive s h i t . I don’t care I get paid in NOK so hoping that’s the case.

Soon as the new US, Australian and Chinese trade deals come in the pounds gonna be fine. UK is the most diverse and robust economy in Europe.

Pretty sure it's been the uncertainty about Brexit that's been dragging the pound down. Once it's done the UK will be on the up and up.

Or at least you hope it will be, so that it coincides with your politics and worldview.

Agree with this. Think its just the uncertainty killing it at the moment. They're just absolutely taking the piss with the amount of time its taken.

Are Social Sculptures worth the money? Some are on sale atm and wondering if the extra cost is worth it? I have orslow and IH at the moment.

I haven't had a pair for years. But once I went to the likes of Iron Heart, Samurai etc the pair I had didn't stand up to those brands. Certainly wouldn't pay the sorta of money they are going for these days

I’m assuming you’re talking about the damaged versions? I would not pay full UK RRP but I’ve had a couple of them now and love the wash and finish.

I’m actually wearing these right now https://www.suppastore.com/en/social-sculpture-11-demaged-12-jeans-blue.html

They are slim in the leg, with a slightly higher waist, button fly and selvage detailing.

Yes they are the ones on Vier if that helps. I like the wash but they look pretty dear for what they are!

Look decent, didn't know he had done a button fly. For a wash in specific lengths they're almost worth the cash, bit better than Orslow imo if the fit works.

Agree with Dee. above average mid weight nicely cut denim Comparable to Orslow in terms of quality. If you’re looking for heavier then better off with sammies/ IH

Not really looking for something that heavy to be honest. I haven't worn the IH's I have yet, purely due to the effort of breaking them in! The cut of the ones I am looking at are the SS 01, which I think is a straight cut, similar to a 105?

Would be good to know if there may be alternatives that are better for sub £300. I do like the look of PBJ on Rivet and Hide.

Personal I would pick PBJ over Visvim every time. I have the 14oz from them and they are great and very easy to wear. Even with the tighter cut I have them in.

They are both different though. If you want to work on a raw pair, then I'd agree that PBJ is better. Or get both.

Yeah good point. If you want some washed ones, zoom is selling a nice pair in classifieds. Not Visvim but look nice
