I've started a thing haven't I! I did see some ss12 pair in an 11 on YJP. Not sure if worth the risk for £500.

I have a Visvim 104 IT jacket, which was purchased from a reselling platform.

The jackets great, super heavy and built amazingly. I just noticed the tags have a spelling mistake on them. “Goat LeaRher”. Does this mean the jackets definitely fake? Seems a very strange piece to have faked and as I said, I would never have said it’s fake without noticing this as the jackets fantastically well made.

With the jacket only having one release and being very limited I’m struggling to find anything to compare it with online.

Any help or opinions appreciated. Thanks

Sent the Visvim jacket back to the seller assuming it was fake. Just received this email from Visvim as I messaged them RE the misspelt tags.

“ Thanks for the email inquiry re: what seems to be one of our products from FW16, 104 JKT IT.

We can perhaps provide some peace of mind by noting that the misspelled tag for that particular product indeed exists, as a minor printing error on our behalf.

We are able to receive the jacket for a certified authenticity inspection and replace/repair the official care label with correct spelled version - you would simply be required to cover the costs on both ends.

Thanks for your support.

I'm amazed that they responded.

Makes me wonder if it's worth sending a shirt I was looking at to get them to authenticate it.

Are you going to try and buy it back?! Laughing out loud

I don’t think so. It had some fading from sun damage I wasn’t too happy about. Onto the next one.

That is great service to be fair. Not enough to justify Vis pricing but still shows they care about the provenance of their items

They tightened this service up a while back (not sure if they've changed it since) where you need to provide the original receipt from F.I.L. to evidence that you purchased the pair directly from them before they accept the boots for resoling. And if they do accept you have to pay for the shipping to them and back, the materials and labour.

Before then you could send any old pair back regardless if you purchased directly from them or not.

Re: Their customer service. They're actually pretty good if you email them about queries from past experience.

also, a friend ended up paying about $250 to resole his 7 holes.. which seems crazy. I sent my grizzly boots to Redwing in Amsterdam… £100 for a resole.

any good cobbler can do it, theres nothing special about visvims boots, they are traditional in their construction, so anywhere thats working on the likes of trickers etc will be more than able to handle it, I had some done at timpsons even and it was fine.the only challenge is sourcing the specific vibram soles as a lot of these places might not have the option or interest to source beyond their stock

Seems to be quite a few fakes on ebay at the moment. Be careful. e.g.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VISVIM-Albacore-Shirt/293791362244?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D7d431b33db52497fb0a7e6bd8a3a3649%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D293791362244%26itm%3D293791362244%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DVISVIM&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A1f757b20-12dc-11eb-8e7e-7aab4785a58d%7Cparentrq%3A464c7da11750aad9817808d1fff5ac52%7Ciid%3A1

Or correct me if I am wrong here, but he's bought this from another user who has been selling the dodgy lumber shirts (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324332318520?ul_noapp=true) and seems to want rid.

Interesting.

I have some slight room in us12 vigils so could be an option.

Any of the hardcore Vis heads know if a a dark brown suede or leather Virgil is getting released this A/W?

Saw the ICT ones but not the standard brown colour that usually get.
