This is my wallet:

Replaced my CDG one which has a similar design but this one feels better in almost every aspect. Real feeling thick leather, sturdier zip, better zipper pull and doesn't feel mass produced.
My first one had a stretch mark on the leather. Which is a downside.

Any wallet with a zip is a purse.

Which stone was this rule chiselled into?
Everything you need in 4 layers of leather instead of about 16 in a bi fold wallet.

I need a wallet again. Is it me or do they not last that long? After a couple of years they're fucked.

Who makes really hard-wearing ones?

Anyone have any experience of Mulberry wallets?

The Hermès Calvi is very simple and appealing, anyone had one?

CDG wallets last a fucking age and look better the older they get. Might be biased as where i work everyone (all 3 of us) owns one but the gaffer has had his since the shop opened in 2008 and its still going strong and looks really good worn in.

True, they last ages. But mine left horrible stains on all of my cards and receipts. The zip is annoying when pulling out of your pocket and as a lot of people pointed out, they are a little bit purse-like.

Using a slim Saint Laurent one at the moment, only had it 8 months but so far I'm happy with it.

I have had a Hermes MC2 Darwin card holder since 2010. It's still going strong today and has developed a lovely patina. A friend of mine has the Calvi, and from my personal view for a card holder it's a little bulky due to the stud closure.

If I were to buy a new one today, it'd be the Guernesey.

Is it just me that can't be arsed with a big wallet? I wear a suit most days so it a bulky wallet in a pocket looks shit. I only carry 3 cards and never cash.. Puzzled

Got a Boss calf skin wallet I've had on me daily for 10+ years, it's been through the washing machine several times, been dropped in the sea, been run over - thing shows no sign of needing to be replaced Laughing out loud
