Everytime im doing a piss I flush the toilet whilst I am still peeing, often im still pissing into the toilet when the flush cycle stops.

I don't really know why I do this, for some reason I think my brain thinks I am saving time by doing this, but im obviously not.

A kind of OCD thing I've developed lately is being convinced I've left the iron on, and having to go back home to make sure I haven't.

The odd thing is I've NEVER, EVER left it on.

when i make toast which i do daily i have it with vegimite. After i butter the toast i wash the butter knife to put it in the vegimite jar. If any butter gets in the vegimite jar i have to chuck it away cos i cant eat it.

I always walk on the path so I don't walk directly under streetlights.

If it's unavoidable, I look up before I walk under it to make sure there's not a bird sat on it, because I'm convinced I'll get shat on.

Edit: Obviously not at night.

i've got a vaguely similar one to that.. i can't drink from water fountains 'cos i think that someone is going to slap me on the back of my head and my tooth is gonna chip on the metal bit..

also, i can't clean my ears with cottonbuds if someone else is in the room (nor should i i suppose 'cos it's disgusting..) but i think that they are going to hit my hand and it's gonna jab the cotton bud into my ear..

On a similar note to the fountain and crossed legs ones, I never touch my eye if I have an itch or something in it 'cos I think if we crash I'll be blinded

Rirawin wrote: More recently, I like all my clothes hung facing the same way, including the hangers

I do that too

Rirawin wrote: After eating, whether at home or at a friends, I always insist on doing the washing up. Not for being polite, but because I like to know, in my mind, that the plates and cutlery have all been properly cleaned… and if someone else washes up, I sometimes sneak back in and give everything a wash… again.

Washing the dishes "properly" is my main one. Does anybody else have to wash everything in running water? I just cannot fill the sink with water and washing up liquid and wash them that way. It's not a germs thing, it's just they always feel greasy to me if they haven't been washed in running water

One time I had a few friends round for Sunday dinner, one of whom had fully blown OCD. He insisted on doing the washing up immediately after finishing, which is usually my job. He spent about half an hour washing up, then once he'd finished, because I hadn't done the washing up myself, I rewashed everything. Battle of the OCDers!

Homer wrote: I keep shopping bags from good stores, i must have about 10 dior bags but keep collecting them Oops

I tend to do that with any of those plastic carriers. Got loads of them and never chuck them away but only because I don't know if they go in the recycling bin or the household waste bin or whatever

Other ones off the top of my head:

I can't touch people's pets because I want to go and wash my hands right after. If I go round somebody's house and they have a dog, I pretend I don't like dogs so I don't have to touch them

I don't eat meat because of various things mentioned in this thread - basically how the food is handled/treated before it gets to the supermarket shelf

If a film I like is on TV I'll watch it even if I have the DVD and have not and would not have watched it for years otherwise. I like the feeling that other people are watching it at the same time as me

If I realise I've been spelling a word wrong for ages I'll keep spelling it wrong. I think I dislike the inconsistency

And I've noticed I've got worse since living on my own. When I had no choice but to put up with people leaving wet towels on the floor or leaving crumbs on the work surface it didn't bother me much, although I still noticed it

being clean is one thing, but this stuff is madness.

The rise in all these hot house flower conditions, like asthma are being attributed to the fact that we are living in too clean an environment, thus our immune system is never subjected to a bit of dirt to toughen us up. Humans are actually meant to have worms in there digestive system for them to function properly.
