Just read 'There's no Buisiness' and 'Bring me your Love' by Charles Bukowski.

They are incredibly short, about 10 pages, but I really liked them.

The illustrations by R. Crumb were great as well, managed to match the madness and misery that I pictured in my head.

Just read "Everyday Drinking" by Kingsley Amis, fantastic little coffee table book. Can anyone recommend me some Hunter S Thompson that isn't Fear and Loathing?

Finally getting round to reading catch 22, just one of those books I've never picked up.

Briliant, everyone is insane, reads like Marx brothers, but even better.

Just finished persopolis, thought it was very good.

what books are in and good at the moment? fancy something hyper violent, fast paced with a splash of "cool". im not an avid reader of books so it needs to be something that will hold my interest

anyone read "the strain"? would that work?

Anyone care to recommend any non fiction for a holiday read? Normally enjoy music biographies etc. Just reading Sebastian Horsley which is pretty good and have ordered The Rum Diary in advance of the film release.

I enjoyed it. I would recommend you get the audiobook though, it's not that great you need to read it and having Ron Pearlman read it in an eerie fashion really really works.

William Gibson's new one - Zero History

I've got 70 pages in and it's a cracker, his Buzz Rickson fascination is showing through. The hunt for the rare military spec denim work wear is on!
Lots of references to London, some a bit close to home - one wonders if he has browsed this forum.
