Reading Freakanomics (finally). Pretty interesting, especially the abortion as crime preventer chapter.
Just finished John Fante - Into The Dust. Fante was a big influence of Bukowski and you can really tell.
On that tip, 'Women' by Bukowski is hillarious. Got 'Ham on Rye' up next.

Martin Amis 'The Pregnant Widow'. Christmas present off my little sister. About a third of the way in. Very good.
Anybody read that last Jonathan Franzen? Any good?

Just finished Remains of the Day. Its the second Ishiguro novel I've read and not really enjoyed, along with Never let me go. He's obviously a very gifted writer and I really liked his last collection of short stories, but I just cant find a single likeable character in either of the other two.

Anyone got a copy of The Watcher by Charles Maclean that I can buy / loan? It's ridiculously expensive on amazon.

It's alright for a tenner I guess. Quite interesting in a coffee table/bookcase filler type way.

Reading "digital film making" by Mike Figgis , anyone who's interested in making films its worth a read. The author is pretty down to earth and makes most things sound possible.
