Shout out to Pent, PM’d him and he was a top bloke, sent me recommendations of what I’d like and I loved them all.

So much in fact I’ve not made an order for 2 weeks now as I’ve sunk too many bottles of wine Laughing out loud

Definitely prefer natural wines, a lot fruitier and much easier to drink. Then again I don’t have a mature palette and know little about wine, just what I like when I drink it.

not sure if the right thread, but wondering if any fukers had experience and could chime in. feel like i've read lots of you talking about this in the past.

i've been completely off the booze for a little over a month now - figured might as well get healthier whilst on lockdown

i wouldnt say i had a drinking 'problem' before, but definitely had an unhealthy habit. overindulgence on nights out (RIP) and then probably a can or two almost every night after work.

definitely feel less lethargic and am exercising more effectively now after giving my liver a break.

does anyone have any tips on re-introducing the booze back in a healthy way? am concerned that as soon as going out is an option again i'll fall back into the same old habits. very happy with the tee-total progress, but would love to work towards healthier, long-term moderation

im absolutely caning the budweiser 0% cans though, would def recommend. just tastes like clean light lager along the lines of michelob etc

I'm in exactly the same boat. Quit drinking for lockdown - have lost almost half a stone and sleep like a log.

Wouldn't say I had a drinking problem per se but would drink a few glasses of wine most weeknights and binge at the weekend.

On the few days when I've allowed myself a few drinks I instantly find myself feeling shit afterwards.

Definitely want to keep this up. Will knock weekday drinking on the head entirely unless I'm out for a meal somewhere.

Not sure I'd ever want to stop social binges but might change how I drink. Maybe go for light spirits instead of pint after pint. Keep the calories down.

Clausthaler is the best low-abv beer I've found so far. Lucky Saint comes second. Definitely successfully quenches that evening beer craving and after a while you won't even miss the real thing.

Available in Waitrose.

Trying another unfashionable Cantina Giardino cuvée. Overbearing tannins and too dry for me.

I was a bit quick on this one- had it open 3 days, decanted it and it’s fine with food

Will share 1 bottle of wine per week on average either Friday or Saturday, great quality with food, so can get a decent bottle, prefer a light pinot noir.

Wednesday if I’m having a good week and in a positive frame of mind I’ll have 1 can of IPA.

I could never quit, but definitely quality and experience over quantity now in my 40s.

I had high hopes for this and it did not disappoint, Pinot noir from the same producer in champagne a few posts back. Maybe one of the best wines I’ve ever had. Watermelon jolly ranchers is a pretty on-the-nose description.

Zesty but not too tart, also not overly sweet. Just the right amount of lime to soda ratio. Recommend.

I knocked midweek on the head a long time ago and now stick to Thursday/Friday - Sunday with something light on a sunday so there is no monday morning headache.

Pints in the pub, fine, but keep it under 4-5 and you wont be getting too bad a head the next morning. Monday or Tuesday, feel like a beer? Fine, have one and then leave it at that. 2,3 or 4 wont do anything better than that first beer and one beer aint gonna cause any harm.

Same goes for a wednesday.

Trick I think is to have at lease 3 or 4 clear nights with no booze each week and keep anything heavier or in bigger format (bottles of wine, spirits etc) for Thursday - Sunday.
