how do you guys learn so much about this stuff? genuine q.. is it just like getting in to beers?

WSET course is a good start, the level depending on how much you want to become a wine geek. Did WSET 2 & 3 myself - Got some friends doing the 4th level but that's too much wizardry for me

Also Noble Rot magazine is a good read

PS: WSET course also gives you a pin to wear on a blazer so you can look like a total cunt.

Sounds like this will fit the bill… https://www.vinvm.co.uk/domaine-le-roc-des-anges-cotes-du-roussillon-villages-rouge-segna-de-cor-2018

And no one can turn down a Foillard Cotes de Puy https://www.montywines.co.uk/products/domaine-jean-foillard-morgon-cote-du-py-2018-beaujolais-france

Really annoyed MoreNaturalWine Is closing mid December, was going to get an order in but now they have stopped shipping to the UK for some reason.

They were by far the best place to get natural wines from, tonnes of bottles for under £15 a pop which was great.

Any alternatives? LOW, Wayward, Wrights etc are all quite expensive!

Gnarly Vines got some decent stock and a '£15 and under' section: https://gnarlyvines.co.uk/collections/15-and-under

Shop Cuvee is decent too. Next day delivery over £50 and get some nice bits in and regularly replenish stock: https://www.shopcuvee.com/collections/wine?sort_by=price-ascending

Amazon has got Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel for £25 at the moment, good value at that price.

Was cooked for by my sommelier mate and he cracked this out to go with, was fantastic.

Really enjoy this thread as I keep trying to learn more about wine. Nice one everyone.

Does anyone know where you can purchase big bottles of spirits, I’m after some sailor Jerry’s preferably 1.5 litre for a gift but at the moment all I can find is bottles which would work out more expensive than just buying a couple of 70cl. Failing this any suggestions on rum?

The big bottles are always more expensive. Economy of scale somehow goes out the window with them. Always think the same with 1L beers, every nation in the world they are cheaper but in the UK more expensive (per ml).
Havana Club 7 is reduced on master of malt just now. If you are looking for something more unusual I like the Diablesse Clementine.

Cheers for the info, don’t think Havana is his thing, normally drinks sailors, chairman reserve and possibly mount gay, last time I bought a bottle it was like £50+ and wasn’t what he likes plus mixes with coke so seems a bit of a waste. I thought a big bottle would look a bit better for a gift but can get 3 x 70cl cheaper.
