dc001 - i'd go with new standards if you want to wear them with fairly chunky trainers.
also, these julian red detroits are a similar cut to NSs and are bargain imo (maybe not your size though)

I dont see a problem with Homme+ and I am seriously tempted myself, all the highstreet companies rinse the catwalk designs, who have in turn rinsed Schott and other classic leather designs previously.
I would ironicly want to make it less of a catwalk copy, the almost bespoke fit is the main attraction.
