Anyone know anything about this? Release date etc?
Need an upgrade for my 8800 badly and was going to get an 8600. Am I better waiting?

I'm in the same boat as well. I know there are a few 8800 Artes is floating about in the Middle East at the moment and the Sapphire Arte release date is set vaguely as Q1 2008. Personally I think the Sapphire looks much better (which let's be honest is what the 88xx series is about). Here's a link to the official webpage: http://www.nokia.com/A4678506

maybe, if youre a "select" customer, i asked about the iphone, still would have to pay £269 but i could get £10 off any of the iphone tariffs and you have to stay on for 18 months. just get a good phone for free on a decent tariff and buy ipod touch.

Thanks. Not sure the Sapphire is really me. Can't really wait for the black Arte to filter through at the moment. I need to get something in the next couple of weeks. Looks like an 8600 for me.

phone is shit, my fist one crashed and kept getting an error saying 'operation failed' when trying to access text messages, so got a new one, which did the same thing recently… managed to fix it by doing a complete factory reset but this doesn't always work. Relf is on her second too. Apparently you need to update the firmware to stop it from happening. I think this also stops the shity black screen pictures it takes when trying to use the flash on the camera.
Its a shame as the phone could be good if it wasn't so buggy

Just got the Blackberry 8320 from Orange - love it. It has wireless which the 8310 doesn't have. Easy to set up and synchronize with the USB cable (I can't for the life of me get the Bluetooth connection to work). 6MB data for £7 a month. O2 do unlimited data for £10 a month but Orange are much more generous on the talk plan (imo).
new 8800 looks very nice

Nokia has whipped the dust sheets off a pair of devilishly sleek new 3G versions of the deluxe 8800, suitably christened the Arte and Sapphire Arte.
The 8800, in all its posh guises, has received flak for being all style and no substance, but this fresh double-act is hoping to redefine the range. Sure, it's not shying from it's luxury roots with its swooping sports car lines and rich anti-fingerprint metal and glass finish, but the inclusion of 3G connectivity for fast Internet access along with a new 3.2-megapixel shooter and 1GB of built-in storage promises to catapult the 8800 into the realms of credible high-performance handset.
hopefully the battery won't be shite like the last one

Any LG Viewty owners here can tell me what kind of battery life the thing has that'd be great.
I've had my Nokia 7900 Prism for about 9 days, and I'm contemplating getting rid.
Pros - looks sweet, easy to use
Cons - Faulty (3 times now its gone into standby and i cant get the thing out of standby without taking out battery)
Appalling battery life. Get like 1.5 days on a full charge, plus the battery display is so irratic, its impossible to figure out whether the things full or half empty.
Basically I want a phone which is lighter than my K800i , but with similar battery life.
