Just buy the phone 'sim free' from the network they use, i.e vodafone or get one which is 'unlocked' so it works on any network.

ok, my iphone contract was up for renewal/upgrade on the 25th december, via carphone warehouse/O2

just had carphone warehouse on the phone, they said they can offer me;

£25/month
600mins, unlimited texts
£150 cashback if i chose no phone

basically, i just want a new iphone, would prefer the 32gig, but dont really mind about the gig size
i dont use my phone all that much, nowhere near 600mins

should i go for that deal, which seems pretty good, then with the £150 buy my own iphone seperately?

any advice on whats best to do would be great… i asked them to call me back in a weeks time so i can have a look into it all

how much are you paying now and is that an 18 month contract.

search on ebay for others that are out like the noika N86 and the latest samsung and SE offers and see what they are selling for.. if you can get a phone for free which you can sell for more than £150 you may aswell.

How does the £15 thing work in month one, does the unlimited start as soon as you top up £15 ?

I heard from a few people that they are, but the terms are really iffy. Something like only 100 customers a week are getting it and its on upgrade only. Apparently you have to ring up and tell them your leaving TMobile because you want an iPhone. Think that starts in the new year.

When you first get the sim it usually takes a day or two before your unlimited free texts start. The first time you top up will be on a certain date, say the 28th, so you get unlimited texts until the 28th of the next month. If you don't top up at the end of your month, the cost of texts will come off your credit until you top up again and you've then got unlimited texts again until the 28th of the next month. And so on.

I pay £35 a month and don't have insurance on it. Easy.

Not so easy when you have to shed out £450 for a new one though.
Before I figured out I could get it free with the bank (natwest) the cheapest I could get for my 3gs from a reputable firm was £8pm. This was through scanning the first results page of google. Any reputable Insurance worth having is going to be on the first page anyway.

right my piece of shit C905 has failed again and after complaining to vodaphone they have agreed to replace it and to decide what phone I like of similar spec but up to date. I'm going to push for a blackberry I think. Anybody advise on how the bold 9700 and storm 2 measure up?

not released yet and this is a replacement for my current phone so contract will be unaffected. I doubt they'd just give me an iphone if I did even want one. Eye-wink
