if you go vans , just make sure you go vault or other collab. not the shit-tier ones you get at shoezone

Skagway as a Converse alternative? Anto’s suggestions are good. Sk8-hi would work well with your style and the NB’s.
Skagway's have always been on my radar, just finding a pair at a decent price.
Yeah will do. They gotta be comfy so will make sure they are the comfycush ones at least

Just had to back some Vans Anaheim old skool, there’s a stupid bump inside the collar of the heel (from the seam) that isn’t in a pair of non Anaheim’s I’ve got.
Are the Vaults the same as this? Or the non Anaheim comfycush ones here? https://www.vans.co.uk/shop/en/vans-gb/comfycush-old-skool-shoes-vn0a3wmavne
I’ve wanted a pair of these for a long time and held off for some reason -probs to get the right derivative -and now I think I’m gonna end up with a normal pair

Thanks so much guys that’s really helped. Now I definitely know I want these ones, though they seem sold out everywhere. Anyone know if they’re likely to be reissued or where they’re readily available?
I’d recommend these two pairs…

I’m not a fan of the foxing stripe that’s on standard Vans so I stick with the Vault line, plus the Vault models have a better shape and construction than the standard version.

Vans Vault is pretty consistent with rereleasing/restocking classic standard models like those. The slip-ons for example are usually always in stock. Those Old Skools were easily available for around a year or so before finally starting to dry up. I re-upped on both those pairs back in June as a future replacement since they’re frequent staples in my wardrobe but I haven’t broken ‘em out just yet. There was only one place I could find that had my size at the time too. I’m pretty sure I saw some in stock online recently but at a U.S. store and sizes were limited. Just search for ‘em using the product code and you may have some luck.
They do have a bit more cushioning but I’d go with your same size as the standard ones. I’ve heard they fit about 1/2 size bigger but not from my experience and I own around twenty pairs and never had a sizing issue. I do have a black leather pair of Old Skools that I went 1/2 a size up on and it doesn’t really make a difference.
