70s sizing has varied a bit. first release were toight, now I find the sizing pretty normal.

for me,
canvas = TTS,
suede = I need to go down half a size.

would try both if you can.

Loving the fact My Daybreaks have the same sole as my first Nike's - Come from a running family and remember buying Wally Waffle from Stadium Sports (rip) for my first club race which must of been early 80's (memory failing me).
Would love to see a family tree from the first pairs as after the WW I remember getting a burnt orange pair with waffle sole - Dont remember the model but do remember getting ripped by mates for wearing em! Would love a pair today.

Found these while tidying, bit squashed in the toe box but the leather is sooo much nicer than they use now.

Remember them ^ Ubercool

Defo early 80's Pad, showing your age. 1st pair were grey Nike Air Destiny and some kind of plain toe tennis lows in white with a red swoosh… Bill Gates in Middlesbrough, think it were xmas gifts from the old man along with a kappa ski jacket Oops . Then it was a few pairs of Puma G Villas, kids went mad for them at the time.

My first Nike where Nike Surge, I couldn't find any record of them ever existing untill recently one of the dressers pages on either insta or Fb posted them, I've grabbed the pic somewhere I try find it later. I loved the Red and Navy Adidas jeans from around the same time too.

My first Nike’s were all black with a fluorescent swoosh and detailing. Like an AstroTurf type trainer. Would have been early 80’s. Don’t think I’ve ever seen them since

No mate, even sent mine and the boys Breds back couple of months a go. If I can’t get on with them then defo no other colour could take it’s place.

I’m a changed man.

I forgot but the reason I could never find the Surge in the history books was they where kids sizes, I reckon I was about 9 or 10, looked great with Faras and a best company sweater or op tee shirt. my brother had the bongo's bellow too.
