What ends up making them go bad? Obviously seen pictures of pairs that have crumbled when worn but what causes it to do it? Just age of the material?

Love my Hoka kaha’s, brilliant for walks/hikes when it’s wet. I’ve got the boots but want a pair of the lows now too.

They are proper walking shoes rather than trainers but I have Danner 2650's and they are exceptionally comofrtable. I do like the look of the Hoka lows though as well. Mine aren't GTX so can get wet but are designed for walking in California so are light and breathable.
