Never wore Nikes as a kid, only converse and vans so yeah nostalgia probably does play a part.

Swede can't exactly wear Clark's trainers as an adult now though can he?

I used to deal with faults/returns in a store.
UK/Flimby made had a much higher returns rate than Asian made NB. Usually for daft thinks like no holes for laces, tongues not stitched on etc.
Nike were between and 8 and 9 times the returns that Adidas had too Laughing out loud

NB's used to be a pretty integral part of European sneakerhead culture before they went quiet for a bit in the years leading up to this latest resurgence.

I remember the CT days with great collabs from solebox, Colette, etc. Some of my most coveted sneakers back in the day were NBs,i.e. managing to get my hands on two pairs (unthinkable at the time) of the provider 1500s which most people have probably forgotten about by now. I've also only camped for sneakers twice in my life, one of which was for solebox NBs.

I think it's fantastic that they are back in the limelight. The sneaker scene needs some serious shaking up and variation outside of Nike and Yeezy

That's a really interesting insight. I guess "hand made" means more human error. Funny that so much managed to get through QC

Anyone interested in a pair of Nike x Fear of God Skylon 2 size 8.5uk black version. Some wear to the 3m parts on the toe box. They’ve always been a little tight on me as they fit small so time to let them go. £58 posted. Any interest give me a shout and I’ll get some pictures together.

Nope, had a quick look at ebay earlier and they’re going for big money as expected

Yeah I had the same thing happen - was number 9000 when I logged in on my PC, and then just to check it out I logged in on my phone couple minutes later and was number 10000….

Real sneaker heads from CT days will know NB’s were always a staple, and also had some of the best collabs. Still have my purple devils and Nazars in the loft. Swede saying about grown men only wearing NB is bolloks as well.

NB's for me were always the bottom shelf sneaks that kids used to get ripped for wearing. To me, these 920, 990, 991, 992's look like the ultimate dad shoe or American tourist special

Remember seeing 574s on De La and Rob Swift in Hip Hop Connection when I was at school (1999 Laughing out loud) - copped a navy pair and got rinsed by most people. Always loved them.

My first pair were a booby pair of 574s from footlocker when I was about 16 then levelled up to the USA releases in time.

The best trainer company for me, materials always consistent compared with everybody else in the market and never felt like they've sold out over the years either

+1 on the 2002r too
