Thank you yellowpages for putting that so simply. Can this be stuck in the OP to end this discussion Laughing out loud

Edit - ah christ here we go again. If something is more expensive it's cos it's more expensive it's not cos Mr Porter buy RL for 10p and sell at £500 for lolz

High end stuff like Gucci, RRL probably has a slightly higher markup to it but nothing crazy, and they're more likely to have measures in place to stop excessive discounting from devaluing their brands.

A stupid reason called maths? Laughing out loud

VAT on £50 is £8.33. If the VAT element in £50 was £10 then the ex VAT total would be £40. Therefore £40 + 20% should be £50 (which it isn't). £41.67 + 20% = £50

Not that this takes anything from the point you are making, I'm just being pedantic

This is true. Also I have noticed that the 80% sale stock mostly consisted of stuff they could not clear from SS12 and AW11. I also think they bought old season stock from some of the brands like Acne,APC, RL etc at a discounted price only for this event. At the end of the day, it is better for the said brands to get rid of the stock at Mr Porter rather than places like Gilt, Brand Alley, Vente Privee or even TKMaxx (end of the chain, not always but mostly)

I'd think so, they still have some stuff left from SS11 which is down to 50% off, so I'd assume eventually AW11 will go to 50% off as well.

Popped in the grenson thing.
Dunno about prices but not exactly a great selection. If you are a uk 6/7 then perhaps go along.

Also the s/s12 range…. The new Archie's don't use vibram soles and the quality looks & feels a lot shitter than previous seasons. Different insoles too.
