. bought apc sunnies and a acne shirt/short, 70% of my wishlist wasn't reduced
not that i know anything about E-commerce, but surely the only reason a site would use a wishlist is so it knows how in demand their products are and will reduce them accordingly.
if the have 10 pairs of shoes left and 20 people have them on their wishlist, i would imagine you would see a small reduction, if any.Basically, and to aid with future products/buying. It's also the easiest way to directly let a customer know if you're short on stock/it has been discounted and push them to purchase.

Nobody at Mr. Porter is individually going through each item and reducing their price - all they'll do is get their programmers to write some algorithm that automatically reduces price over brands / categories at a specific percentage and date / time.
They'll know at what percentage they're still making a profit - i.e. a reduction of 30% might still yield a 10% gross profit / margin.
I'd imagine all that wishlist stuff is just for customer retention and marketing.
Someone will be going through each line individually, it's part of the merchandiser's job.
