Any suggestions on where to go aside from the popular beaches? I want to go somewhere new and undiscovered. Therapy for my soul. Smiling

Loved Phi Phi when I went 8 years ago.

I imagine it's totally different now though.

If you haven’t been you need to go to Phi Phi for a couple of nights.

Day time it’s chilled out, walk around the island or up to the view point, or get a boat out to maya bay (the beach). Drink plenty of Chang’s doing so. Night time is a bit mental like a student club, fun the first time.

Anyone been to Koh Lipe?

I stayed in the Panwa area. It's a quiet area with just a few restaurants and bars

Anyone been to Koh Lipe?

Been to Koh Lipe twice - discovered it by chance the first time. Really chilled vibe, more couples with a one or two beach bars at night. One little walking street. It's inhabited by sea gypsies who are super cool. Amazing snorkling and diving

Cheers, it sounds good and will be with the mrs so chilled will be good. I've been to Thailand a good few times so I fancy somewhere different. Looks pretty easy to take the ferry from Langkawi as well.

We took the ferry from Langkawi - really easy, about 1-2 hrs. Check out Castaway (https://castaway-resorts.com/) if you're looking for a nice place to stay for a reasonable amount. Snorkling just off the beach is really good. One thing I'd say is, the second time we went, we stayed on Pattaya beach, and as the island is busier now, they have a rubbish barge that arrives once every 2 weeks. Bit unsightly. To be sure you won't see it, stay on the side that castaway is on.

Thanks for the tip I will definitely try to avoid the rubbish barge. How long would you spend there?

It's actually our honeymoon I'm planning and Singapore, Langkawi and Koh Lipe seems pretty good in terms of transport and getting around without losing many days. What did you make of Langkawi?

I spent a week the first time and 10 days the second time in Lipe. Loved it both times. It's far enough away that you don't get any of the full moon crowd, but still enough things to do / going on.

Langkawi was OK, not my favourite place in the world. Been twice - first time stayed on the beach, and the beach wasn't anywhere near Koh Lipe standard. Second time we were reccomended a place called Bon Ton: https://bontonresort.com/ - away from the beach but amazing rooms, all old teak houses, and the food is amazing. If Bon Ton is full, they have a sister hotel called Temple Tree which is just next door but amazing too.

If I had 2 weeks I'd do 3 nights Singapore, 2 nights Langkawi, the rest Koh Lipe.
