The main issue is existing mobile data standards are not optimised for sending / receiving small data packets, such as notifications etc, its in ratification at the moment. So data has to be through wi-fi or BTLE into a gateway like the iphone.
This is power inefficient and it needs to be tethered to do all the work, get GPS etc, not much fun during sports.
The next gen will be able to get data direct without tethering (it will still have wifi for home use etc), which saves power for GPS, so this model will be obsolete very quickly.
It is an engineering marvel for existing technology though.

Can't believe no love for the new Max Bill.

The new Max Bill looks great i'm not sure about the tan numbers though, does it come in other colours?

Max Bill looking great. Is that a grey dial? It's a bit Bell & Ross vintage.
Glad to see they've inverted the colours on the date wheel finally, so that it does conflict with the dial.

That monaco is very nice, have been tempted to get one as well. Great with more formal get ups!

Monaco's are brilliant for the price. Non-Chrono version with black face is something like £1900 on iconic watches.

My Mrs says if i (she) buys a Roley from certain retailers, as she doesn't hold a UK passport, she can clain the vat back from the airport or something, is this right ?
26 Apr 2015 15:26
Yes if she lives outside EU. Most stores can issue tax refund forms.
26 Apr 2015 15:28
where do you get the refund ? Is it dodgy, any come back etc? She lives here but has anon EU passport.
26 Apr 2015 15:34
Not dodgy, its just tax free shopping for people lives outside of EU. Does she hold some sort of visa to live in the uk then?
depends where she fly out. Either hand the refund form to tax free counter at the airport or if theres no counter then there should be a post box for you to hand in the form.

Has a uk Visa and non EU passport. Going back to see her mum in summer. SO theoretically could buy a watch, calim at the airport and go to see mother and make the claim at the airport ?

They look at your visa and travelling history etc then they decide whether you're likely to return to the UK, if the answer is yes then they won't issue you the refund.
Normally they only issue if the visa expires within three months. By the sounds of it you probably won't get it back.
If you could fly through Schiphol then they sell at price without the tax, just need to show your boarding pass.
