Still on the hunt for a speedmaster, been moving a bit of stuff on in the last month to free up some cash but since I started properly looking they have gone up from £3,340 to £3,520.

Any particular reason for this? I don't want to spend more then £3k ideally and was hoping to haggle them down in the shop but with the increase this looks less likely.

Should be able to get 20% off without any issues. And you should go with the og hesalite version which is much cheaper than the sapphire one. Plus holds its value way better as the demand is higher.

I know that Hesalite is the OG but I'm not sure I could bring myself to getting a non sapphire casing in this day and age.

I'm currently in between an Aqua Terra 41.5mm with the master co axial movement and blue dial or the sapphire sandwich manual wind Speedmaster (I really like the display back).

Can't make up my mind though. Speedie has the history but the Aqua Terra has the better movement, 150 m water resistance and arguably a nicer dial.

Looks like all Omegas went up circa £100 - £150 in the last few weeks.

For me the issue isn't really about the material and the casing, but the milky ring that is present in the sapphire version due to extremely tall sides of the chrystal. Looks so shit compared to hesalite version.

Fair point, maybe it's a case that sapphire just doesn't work on the Speedmaster due to the fairly unique raised dome.

While I'm here, what are peoples' opinions on the Rolex Date Just II with the fluted bezel? Another one on my wish list.

What's Omega? Is that like fake Rolex?

Got it from goldsmiths in the end, managed to haggle a bit off the price so pretty happy overall.

Budget went from £2500 tops to £3kish thanks to fuk, most expensive thing I ever did signing up on here.

What's the going rate for the new(ish) white dial Daytona? I know they shot up to something crazy like 15k due to a lack of supply but did they comeback to reasonable.

I have spotted a couple of what appear to be low Rolex prices of late and despite these being a lot more than I'd usually consider, I might take the punt.

If buying a watch for cash, can I expect some discount? David Duggan in London, looking at a Patek for 13k. (ps not me buying, my old man!)
