I’ve been looking for a sub for the last couple of weeks but may go for a GMT if the rumours are true.
Is there anywhere decent to buy in Vegas?
Going to be there over Christmas and was hoping our weak but slightly stronger currency might save me some money.
Also, having never bought anything of this price tag abroad before, can I claim the tax back at the airport?

You’ll pay duties going back in. Not worth it in my opinion, plus you haven’t a hope of finding a GMT sitting in an AD in Vegas and will pay a premium with a grey dealer.
Unfortunately, while the situation isn’t as bad as the UK there are similiar shortages in the US of the SS models.

To avoid duties don't declare it upon your return?
Or if you're really worried, package up the box and papers, post it back to the UK via EMS, and just wear the watch home.
However, as mentioned you'll most likely have trouble trying to find one in stock in the first place.

By all means you can risk not declaring it coming back in but face a fine plus duties if you get stopped. Don’t look too conspicuous is the aim of the game then!

I’ve a contact who works for Rolex and he said there’s nothing official that the Batman is being discontinued…
I would like it to be true too as I got mine a few years back but we’ll see what happens.

Would like to see a coke bezel. An interesting move would be a white gold coke.

They need to add a steel one though. Nobody wants the LN and with batman gone there is only the pepsi that you can't even get on a list for ..

Although the least desirebale SS GMT, plenty still want the LN and if they release another bi-colour bezel SS GMT it will be just as elusive in terms of obtaining as the SS BLRO. It won’t solve the problem.

why? you have one so be happy with or planning to sell?
Thought that would be obvious. I think it's just having something that is no longer available or becomes a 'collectors item'..
Assumed that would be the case across many other spectrums too.

the horology god aint been good to me this year, drunkenly smashed the plexiglass on my Speedy,
Tripped over cat on the stairs and disintegrated the screen on my apple watch, So want an everyday beater a bit smarter than the SUUNTO.
Does MrPORTER sale ever include watches as I had want a UNIMATIC U2 and can only find em on MP, (purchasing from their site they add €100 VAT?)

Currently in Vegas and stopped by Torneau.
They have a couple of second hand Sub dates, watch only.
There’s an 1989 in really good shape, bit of stretch in the bracelet and the dial has started to patina nicely. Has been checked over with them and recently serviced, comes with a 2 year warranty as well.
Not sure if it’s the Vegas bug, but it’s available for just under 6k. Is this a fair price considering the age of the watch and the fact there’s no box and papers?

About on market. Tonneau isn’t the cheapest really.
If the exchange rate were better would probably be a bit better. Also be careful of duties on return.
