Anyone have a Tudor GMT? I just got to the top of the waiting list but I’m having some second thoughts. I have a bb58 already and thinking about going for an Oyster Perpetual or Datejust instead. Interested to hear from someone who’s had one for a few months.

What's peoples thoughts on an imitation jubilee strap? People put non rolex leathers / nato's on their rolex faces but what about a non rolex Jubilee? I've been offered a lovely oyster perpetual with a red dial, which is genuine, but strap is imitation, for £1500, wondering if it's a decent price for essentially just a face.

Yeah I got one TheTiger - hit me with any questions you have.

Short answer that you might have seen elsewhere: You kinda get 80% of the GMT Master, for 30% of the cost.

yeah so you're essentially paying 1.5 for the face, a lot of the watches I see in burlington, rankins etc are on non rolex leather straps, so I'm asking what's the difference in a non rolex leather and a non rolex jubilee strap, it feels like the same thing but also feels somewhat different, as the leather isn't imitating a strap wheras the jubilee is.

cause the leather and nato strap aren't imitating anything + if it's "branded" with the crown etc. it's clearly a fake and even not an aftermarket.

good point, might just get it and stick it on a leather strap, it's a nice piece.

As I've said earlier, I'm the other way round. Tudor GMT is just too big for me coming from someone who wears a SD, im downsizing

Picked up some fresh nato's.

Anyone have a good source for spare parts? I need a bezel spring (not sure correct name) non ratchet, not sure if going genuine or not will matter as they're not marked and really simple parts, The bezel has become difficult to turn and I think the spring has gone out of shape.

Also, wouldn't mind a good source to keep an eye on for inserts as would like to put a tritium one back on, prices seem to be a bit mad for these.

Is Rolex st James still open or closed already for the refurb? If it’s open I’d take it in there and they may sort the bezel on the spot. I went in to buy some new end links for my sub 16800 as mine were a bit loose but instead they just bent them back into shape for me free of charge.

do you mean the bezel retaining spring?

ask at you local AD they should have it but remove the bezel first clean it and the retention ring as well and put it back together and give it a try. also you can just turn the ring and see if it will work better for you.

mounting a new ring isn't that "simple" since you need to adjust the ring for the bezel with a tool

since Rolex switched from tritium to SL it's unlikely that you will find a tritium insert with a pearl at a AD. thats why there are so many service inlays around. good tritium ones are going from 1500€. I have a broken long5 one which I would let go cheap! tritium pearls going for around 250-300€ each so if it's not worth it to you buy a sl pearl, scratch the paint out and then fill it with a mixture of espresso and white color to match your patina. done
