Don’t service it, you won’t get the money back on the sale.

What are folks thoughts on this? Thinking about a 30th birthday present to myself. Or should I hold out and go for the Rolex instead? Any idea what sort of availability on this at the moment. Or if anyone happens to be passing through Schipol soon, then would appreciate a cursory glance in Gassan to see if they have any stock and for a swatch at the pricing?

Great watch, sizing puts me off a little. Much more bang for your buck than a Rolex. You'll never get your hands on the latest Rolex model for a good while without a good relationship and history at the AD. Older Rolex models could be picked up around 4/5k about 3 years ago. You are looking at about 8k now. Tudor is great at 2.8k.

Hopefully this model comes out in the BB58 casing then I am all over it.

On this note, how often should I be servicing my speedmaster? I’ve had it 2 and a half years now from brand new, it only gets worn once or twice a week at most. When I bought it the guy in the shop just said a few years, which was kind of vague. I’ll be keeping it forever so not massively worried about resale value.

Just service it if/when it needs to. I think people are a bit over cautious with servicing, a lot of people have watches that are 30+ years old and have never been serviced. I’ll only ever service a watch if something’s knackered

Bought the Tudor Black Bay 58 39mm last night. £2600 but with rubber strap, no bracelet.

I currently wear a GMT Master 2. 66710 I think, red hand.

TBH if I didn't already have a Rolex I don't think I would have bought a Tudor. But because I do, I'm kind alike "I'm not pretending this is a Roley, this is just something I like and a bit of fun".

I love my Rolex and I love wearing it, I'm not sure I would have got the same vibe if I had bought a Tudor instead.

I passed on the Tudor GMT a couple of weeks ago, case size was an issue for me - 41mm is fine, but it’s 15mm thick (compared to 12.1mm on the Rolex GMT and 11.9mm for the BB58 ) so it wears really really big.

I know everyone here will turn their noses up at it, but I am likely going to go for the Bell & Ross BR V2-93 GMT. Tried that (and the BR05) on at their Burlington Arcade store. It sits really well on the wrist, the bracelet is lovely, and I should be able to pick a used one for sub £1500. A good stop gap until Tudor release a 39mm Batman GMT Laughing out loud

That B&R looks pretty good tbh. Personally put off by the orange GMT hand otherwise everything else is on point.

Yeah looks good that.

Same here. I'm hoping they release the 39mm BB GMT at baselworld but unsure if they will…

I think I'll be pulling the trigger on a Grand Seiko SBGN005 shortly

It's the Bell & Ross text I can't get away with, for me it dominates the face of the watch & this is me being a weirdo but I don't like the round day window, why isn't it square! Handsome watch nonetheless, bezel looks OP Smiling

Saw this in a shop window today, new Seiko 5 sports. Bracelet isn’t great but a lot of watch for the money (around £260).

Very very nice that! Numbers remind me of Panerai and Bezel/hands are reminiscent of Omega.

I was in Schiphol yesterday, and they don't have the Tudor or any interesting Rolex in stock.
