It was a bit of a weird one, they buyer had bought a fake Rolex previously so he was super cautious and sprung the authenticity check on me last second. We actually went to Austin Kaye on the strand first and they were typically unhelpful. The help at IWC was free and honestly they couldn’t have done more. If it was planned I would have rung ahead.

Now onto the next watch Cool

don't understand why luxury fashion brands need to bring out watches! all of them are garbage!

Cartier Tank a Guichet (very great watch btw) face in a Panerai Radomir case with an awful placed logo

watch face/ dial reminds me of a WIFI logo/ symbol as well

I'm gonna disagree, I think fashion watches are an interesting and worthwhile part of the conversation. I think it's inconsistent and daft to allow fashion in other areas but get sniffy about watches. I can only understand it in in the sense that watches are bigger investments so have to be versatile or timeless or whatever?

The Gucci one above isn't to my taste but it's a very strong aesthetic statement and you couldn't expect rolex or IWC to put out something so offbeat. I actually like it in its own way, although it does look a bit like old-fashioned bathroom scales.

Hermes have released some of the nicest watch designs of anyone over the last few years, but I suppose their thing is high-end craft as much as fashion.

^ interesting take on it.

I must say Bvlgari also make some interesting watches. Especially the new Octo Finissimo, which I’m thinking was designed by Genta, of Royal Oak and Nautilus fame..

best place would be a Uk watch forum (or where ever you based) quickest way a good grey market dealer.

you to grey market/ watch dealer: quick but less money
you to a private person: (could) take more time but more money

they go for around € 5750 on chrono24 (box + papers, worn) - retail is € 5650

price depends on your "dent" I would say

I’m after a Datejust model 126200 (36mm) with the blue dial and smooth bezel if anyone knows of one going…

Edit: pretty much exactly this:

Agree on the Octo in general, I've had one before and it's a nice piece.
