Its just a marketing ploy to shift more core range shitters.

Probably but as wembly mentioned the stella / lacquer etc dials were a thing since the 50s

Exactly, Rolex has done coloured dials for eons. Oh and I agree that the double batons looks wank.

That Day Date Stella is a beauty. Not into the double indices on the new OPs — would look better with single indices all round. Or have the small lume dots behind the solid indices like on that Day Date, much cleaner and better balanced

The double indices on the 36mm is a killer. So shit.

Cool

whilst we're at it, looks like the double batons were a design inspiration taken from GS. probably why they look wank

Can you clarify what sort of strap you're looking for? Material and style? You can get PVD deployant buckles as well.
That GS movement looks pretty interesting, certainly from a geeky, technical perspective, but it will ultimately depend on the design of case they place it within

Not sure if you want fabric but they have a dlc option; https://erikasoriginals.com/

I have a couple and am pretty happy with them.

I would personally locate something you like the look of and then fit an aftermarket PVD buckle, because otherwise there doesn't appear to be a particularly decent selection, and especially so from the better brands
