Got my yellow dial 41mm in December, still waiting on a 36mm green dial and 31mm pink that I asked for at the same time as the yellow. Apparently they aren’t coming through particularly fast so with no previous history will be a decent wait.

This AD was the one who sold me my first Rolex. After visiting many ADs in my area (and having horrible experiences) I really connected with my SA. She is a wonderful woman to the core.

I visited the AD a few times since I purchased the watch to get small gifts for family on notable occasions.

Fast forward to a week ago.

I brought holiday baskets, champagne, and chocolates for the rest of the team. (Scary story, on the way I was almost in a horrible car accident. Someone was going in reverse on the off ramp I just exited. I had to maneuver and the bottles of champagne broke in my car. I stopped at a liquor store down the street to get replacement bottles.

I purchased some small items for family gifts and left.

Anyway, I never did re-inquire about the watch any time I was there. I genuinely wanted to see how these folks were. They truly are “family” to me.

So the owner called me a few days ago and was very happy to receive the basket and champagne (she wasn’t there when I dropped in”.

Honestly I wish it was satire but the guy has 1000+ posts

Why people play these games is mind boggling. Is this the luxury experience they were hoping for?

Can’t get my head round that, it’s a fucking Rolex. They make almost a million of them a year. Just buy another watch or pay resell… why waste years or your life waiting for a watch when you could be enjoying any other watch in that time.

Not for all of the money in moneytown would I sell myself out like that. Was with a mate last weekend, who bought a Patek Aquanaught Travel Time (Tiffany Dial) from a grey a few years back in New York.

I remember thinking he was mad paid $37k, after buying a Calatrava with Patek and still failing to get on a list for a SS aqua / nautilus with the AD. He was laughing at how much people are now willing to pay for the Tiffany - offers in excess of 4 times what he paid.

I don't get the appeal of the Tiffany stamp for people who live outside US..Paying $37K for an Aquanaut TT isn't bad at all. It's less than the RRP now!

I’ve been on a list since release for a Pepsi (March 201

from an AD whom I have spent only about 10k over 10 years on 3 watches in their group of stores.

In 2010 you could basically walk in and buy any one of a kind Rolex sports from stock on 0% finance.

I also had x2 watches serviced with the same AD via Rolex in 2019 which helps build the relationship (apparently) spending £1k.

Been in last week to find our the score and been told they will get me one sorted when another lands as I’m overdue.

I’ve not chased them down or been fussed due to covid but annoyingly now this watch is £7’700. £1100 more than 2018 I think so hopefully before the end of the year I will get one at that price.

I’m also on the list for a Daytona for my 50th, they said they will try for me, I’ve put a £1000 deposit down on that but that’s with another AD. Been 3 years for 4 left to wait!

I’m in no rush and would only buy from an AD. Resale is not my intention unless I’m stoney broke, just like a nice watch and want to pass them onto my kids.

Could almost be worth the grey market price on some pieces if you are anticipating 3 or 4 price increases before you get one.

Just under 3 month wait for me for a sub. I offered to buy some other stuff only if I could get a submariner. Was told 6 to 12 months if I bought a Tudor I liked first. Also have purchase history with them for jewellery over a few years and showed receipts for it which also helped I think.

Tipped my AD not a huge amount but a bit after he got me the Tudor and he then said I should have the sub within 3 months

It's all a game and you have to play along but money talks.

I'll post a pic of it later. I don't even want to keep it as feel it's too big on me. Going to use it to get my grail 16610 sub for my 40th birthday and make it that little bit cheaper.

I have fudge to thank for this journey. Made me want to see how obtainable they really are when he kept posting pics on here

41mm is a chunky monkey on my wrist. Had initially requested for one with date but was told it was a longer wait time so opted for this.

Maybe my watch isn’t very good but I walked into an authorised dealer in Belfast in 2016 and paid £4250 for a GMT Master 2. Listed at £4350 but paying cash and asked could they work with me a wee bit. Thought £100 off was a bit stingey but ah well.

Bought it that day and wore it home

Could be around 13.5-14k on a Pepsi so nearly double retail which is crazy and a Daytona is north of 20k.
