You actually think those two things are comparable? Wow you’re mad.0

The daily mail has reported on the queues in Australia, only a matter of time before it mentions the frenzy in london…

Anyway, we can all agree the entire thing was a shitshow from Swatch.
And anyone queuing for it when it will be available soon online is a little……

Genuine question.
There’s got to be a psychological study to be done of this form of human behaviour.
Mass formation psychosis?
So many reasons. I like the watches, they’re cheap throughaway fun with classic design and great heritage. But more that my inner teenager spent queuing with the ‘headz’ wanted one last outing. I’ve got a toddler so getting up early isn’t an issue or that much of an effort. I think today turned into something much larger than anyone could predict, it was unknown territory for the watch world.

^ that’s fair enough. Point taken.
I just find the mass hysteria mentality a bit strange. Whether it’s shoes, watches, anything. You see people on Black Friday sales fighting over a tv that they didn’t know they wanted or needed until that exact moment.

I really dont get it. If you have £1500 disposable cash, dont you get something good that doesnt need a battery every two years, that doesnt feel lightweight, that is a proper watch. Might aswell get one of those tag connected smart watches. Plus they'll be available for £200 in two months or so.

It’s that fear of missing out. They’ve invested their time and energy into this new ‘thing’. Now it’s been taken away from them due to lack of supply. So they’ll now do whatever it takes to get it. Reason doesn’t come into it as you’re not thinking logically when you’re in this frenzied state.
That’s my only conclusion.

Check out Tim Write’s YouTube channel… he was at Carnaby St from very early on…. Must have spent 5-6 hours queueing only to be told the shop is closed or something.
26 Mar 2022 17:57
Lol. So did any of the shops actually sell any?
