Western sizing and more of a shell (i.e. Not padded or quilted) but not really thin.

Yeah, although you'll want some sort of insulating item underneath, like a knit or heavy sweater.

My mate, who usually buys his shit from Debenhams, has just had a pretty great 2 weeks gambling and has asked me to find him a winter coat.

The brief is "£250-£300 tops, smart, woolen, buttons, dark colour, fitted" - anyone recommend anything off the top of their head? I can't be arsed searching all the Sales again!

Think Oliver Spencer have some good options this year, they're boxier than the Acne, so abit more casual

They do the Grandad coat every year. OS staple. Nearly pulled the trigger a couple of times but it doesn't go with the rest of my gear.
