I got rains too as well as stutterheim for this crap weather, always end up wearing a t-shirt underneath either of them. Both do the job really well. Of blocking the rain and making you sweat like shit.

Also looking for a windbreaker shell type jacket. Like the mainline and Linea Rossa Prada ones but looking for a more sensibly priced one. Must have an integral hood

What brands other than White Mountaineering, Visvim and Nanamica do/have done fabric-backed GTX pieces?

Love the weight and breathability of GTX but with a smarter/more classic look.

Guess manufacturing is difficult as they tend to be megabucks. Have also seen a number of Nanamica bits on ebay that look a right state. Perhaps the longevity isn't there with the bonded fabrics.

Anywhere you can get Canada goose for cheaper ? Or a similar type of parka for less ? I dunno about Canada goose I do kind of want one but they’re a lot and they pluck the feathers whilst the animal is alive or sometbing and also everyone has them ( surely most are rascal)

I wore a Canada Goose Chateau parka in Iceland last year.
Had a base layer, t shirt, wool blend jumper and jacket on top and it wasn't warm but I wasn't cold either. Would of like it to be warmer to be honest but it was -5, probably should of wore some proper layers.
Did really well at blocking the wind.

Was stuck in NY last year and picked up the Hope Stkhlm Man Parka, more than did the job and just broke it out again for this year. Looked at Canada Goose but they were everywhere and already had a Woolrich back home.

CG are everywhere but as stated above, reckon loads of them have gotta be snides.

I got mine as it’s got a lifetime warranty. Any issues I’ll take it back to the store.
The other options I had in mind have no physical stores or offered lifetime warranty.
