6th edition is actually correct. this result doesn't make a huge difference, it just puts a little more pressure on Germany. It's still in their hands which i'm sure they would've taken going into their last game.

Slovenia win and England getting a good win against Algeria would really take the pressure off England and almost guarantee the next round

if slovenia and the usa draw, and if as expected we and usa both beat algeria, we have to beat slov or we are could be out.
so a draw in this would be terrible for us.
so slov to win, then we beat algeria and only need a draw against slov if usa beat algeria, and if they dont we dont need anything against slovenia.

What difference does it make if they finish second? It's all about getting through the group stage
