Messi is definitely one of the best players in the world, but not during this world cup.
Also really dislike his attitude this world cup…
Argentinia still played quite good, thought it was going to be atleast 3 or 4-0 for Germany.
Maybe they could've even won with Di Maria, who knows.
Still, Germany well deserved to win the World Cup.

This.

Germans deserved to win. Juat a great team all round. So many options off the bench as well.

Ridiculous that Messi got the Golden Ball. Had to be Muller, Kroos or Schweiny

Glad Muller didn't get it - the geezer is a proper twat.

Luis getting it would of been the only more shocking/funny decision.

I dunno…Müller seems quite humble to me…he is also the player that covered the biggest distance in the tournament.

Isn't he sponsored by Adidas, who also happen to sponsor the Best Player award?

He had a shit World Cup. Missing until the last minute against Iran. Turned it on only against Nigeria. Just sat in a pocket infront of the midfield and defence waiting for his teammates to play through him. didn't even notice him second half yesterday. Player of the tournament is pure jokes.

Was good against Belgium, but yeah, shouldnt have got the award.

OOS - I thought that too bout Adidas, but I think its voted for by a panel of ex pros/coaches. Not to say adidas dont tell em who they want though

It isn't that he was bad though - the opposite. He was a game changer in a team that could only win by one goal. The problem is I can think of a good number of more worthy players: Neuer, Müller, Mascherano, Rodriguez and potentially Robben (bar him being a prick) all were more deserving. If Argentina had won yesterday I wouldn't complain with the decision, I think to say he was shit is an exaggeration.

I didn't say he was shit. I said he had a shit World Cup. I guess he's set the bar so high at club level we expected more of him and can see that other players deserved the award just as much. Argies scraped through the knockouts with little to no goals scored cos they saw him as their game changer and he didn't step up to it. Argies back four all had a better World Cup than him. Had he scored the winner yesterday we'd all be in agreement he is now better than pele though. But he didn't! Sticking out tongue

One on one chance and he fluffed his lines on the world stage. Agree he had a good game though as was much busier, but no messi as we know him.
