Got both a 360 and a PS3, and far prefer the Xbox. The games on the Ps3 just don't cut it, in comparison to the xbox imo.

gta is so whack on the xbox, even my mate who owns a 360 admitted that how is the online community better on the xbox?
Care to elaborate?
just when i played it at my mates everything looked really boxy and the light on the cars didnt look as natural or blendid as on the ps3 (if that makes sense?)

id try using a cable connection to see if that works, but it sounds like its more of a problem with the actual xbox, maybe the disc readers knackered

more people are playing it so you get games faster, and i dont even have gta, havent played since vice city as i didnt like san andreas, dont really feel like im missing out on much, im happy with the games i have. I could say street fighter IV is whack on the ps3, it REQUIRES an install to the hard drive in order to have comparable load times to the 360 version, so have fun with your non-'fuck all harddrive' when you have to install games to it.
I dont't even really rate halo 3, COD4 is much better and available on both systems.

i dont have street fighter and even if i did i'd still have about 79 more gigabytes to fill up with music, movies and pictures than you
i have a laptop which i fill up with music, movies and pictures. why would i possibly want them on my xbox, also, even if i did the xbox can access my laptops files wirelessly anyway…

I've got both consoles (well brother owns PS3) and I don't think it takes a genius to work this one out. Xbox 360 is bundled with a headset, so the vast majority of players communicate. Headsets for the PS3 are a separate perp and many PS3 users don't use them. So online gameplay mostly feels like you're playing against really good CPU A.I.
I think the main issue with the PS3 is the games library, I have only 2 games I play on it, Metag Geal Solid 4 and Killzone 2 (which is a recent release). I have about 10-15 games I rotate on my Xbox at the moment, with 5 main titles I focus on, all of which are a pleasure to play online, as there's verbal communication throughout gameplay.
Economic crisis hit Sony quite hard as well and because they loose money on the production of every console, I think this also plays a role in the productivity of software, their exclusives are now becoming cross-console. I never thought we'd see Final Fantasy or Tekken on Xbox, EVER… But now they are guaranteed releases on the 360. This is simply because of the money behind Microsoft, they invest well in console software.
Graphics, sure PS3 has the capacity to produce better graphics, although these graphics are hindered by the lack of anti-aliasing smooth rendering (which the Xbox engine prides itself on), so every game you play, regardless of what TV you have, has this strange "grainy" look about it. Hopefully in the future they will upgrade their hardware and add smooth edge rendering, would truly make the graphics what they could be- beautiful.
You mentioned controllers, well I and many other people have experienced a burned out PS3 controller. This inevitably happens to ALL PS3 controllers as all rechargeable batteries die at some point. Meaning you have no choice but to purchase another controller. Microsoft gives you the options to use rechargeable battery packs or household batteries to power your controller.
If you're into gaming, you pretty much should have both consoles as both have a lot to offer, however- if your primary emphasis is on online gameplay, community and a games library, the logical choice is the Xbox 360. You'll simply have more fun.

German ratings board USK listed a Special Edition of the game for the console yesterday, although the database has since broken, helpfully. Still, GamerBytes managed to take a picture before everything went wonky.
Activision, LucasArts' European distributor, told us it couldn't comment on "rumour and speculation".
The Secret of Monkey Island was made by Tim Schafer, Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman back in 1990. It was funny and brilliant.
An XBLA revamp would hardly be out of the question and also most welcome, although we wonder what the Special Edition parts could entail. LucasArts may be revamping The Secret of Monkey Island for Xbox 360.
thats it game over, xbox wins.
I have neither but always rated the PS3 over the 360. one of my mates has a PS3 and hardly ever uses it, about 5 others have Xbox and they play each other online all the time, Fifa COD etc and are always ranting on about it and always playing Fifa when we are round at their houses.
Its all about the online/playing your mates these days and XBox seem to have more of the market, more people own them (or a least people I know) and therefore more people play online. If I was to get a console now I would get a 360, purely for the fact that more people I know have them.

my connections still fucked, just keeps crashing etc, our kid dont even come around anymore cos he cant play online…could it be one or more of my telephone box filters fucked or that wireless thingymajig that plugs in the back?

you all know deep down that im right, all you have is halo and that gets boring after 3 games

basically, if you like online gaming xbox kicks ps3s ass all the way. live has more and better features, tons more users who makes for faster and better online gameplay (due to pricepoint and being released a year before ps3), tons more games plus a superior ranking system, sony is still playing catch-up trying to emulate xboxs online support model
and
xbox - 2 gears of war titles
ps3 - zero gears of war titles
