Typical Same old MW. Battlefield 3>MW3
Both BF3 and MW3 are re-hashes of previous games; neither of them are groundbreakingly new. Same underlying gameplay as before with new graphics, maps, guns, campaign, etc.
MW3 is a small run and gun quick shooter. BF3 is a massive battle game. Depends which you prefer I guess, but if I was buying I'd probably just get both.
The one problem MW3 does have being that kind of run and gun game is that when they add all this new tactical gear and shit no one ends up using it anyway, 'cause who the fuck can be bothered to do long strategy when you just want to haul in kills. Like in Black Ops when they added a security camera and that fake noise maker thing, they sounded cool on paper, but when you use them they just seem so pointless 'cause gameplay is so quick in MW3. Stuff like that probably works a bit better in BF3, where games are bigger and longer.

LOL @ outdated perceptions of EA as a shitty sequel factory of a publisher. Funnily enough it's Activision (responsible for publishing CoD along with the now run in to the ground Guitar Hero & Tony Hawk series) who fill that role now. The Battlefield series is far superior to CoD now IMO, especially since all the talent left Infinity Ward.

We'll see, not too sure where your opinion is coming from, as it's been years since Battlefield 2. Not to be confused with Battlefield:Bad Company, which is a sister title, loosely based on th BF story and is made by a different team.
