I have a pair of Orslows which are a good alternative. The SEH Kelly ones look great but could be a bit too formal.

Agree the SEH Kelly ones are great but the detailing makes them a bit formal.

I think the Pherrows (in Brown) look good here, almost works with those shoes as well:

I like a wide cord and reckon those Pherrows would suit the hand in pocket gang style - vetras look a little formal to me

yeah it's a cool old picture of an ivy league university with actual ivy on it, but seriously think about what the dude is wearing. He looks like a total fucktard who can't dress himself, he would have then and he does now.

He looks like Jerry Lewis shrunk his clothes in some nutty movie from then.

Left or right

I know they are divisive but they seem a good option for nasty weather. My Alden all weather walkers are a fair bit more formal, and are a bit similar in colour to the plain lisse one (right). I'm looking for something more casual / rugged.

Probably wear with olive fatigue cords, french beige slimmer cords, raw denim, chino etc.

I think the grain (left) on this basis? Can't find the Bison grain on my size but think they are a bit out there.

If you want that shape and not black, Heschung Thuya looks good. Would be my preference with the trews you mentioned

Heschung are better made, just not a lot of stockists. The crepe style outer sole isn't going to be much cop for bad weather either.

Can’t see a crepe sole on those? Look decent for the weather

Never really been a fan of Paraboot but quite like the look of the William double monks, do they ever go on sale?

That's settled, keeping the left one. Think I have bought and now worn the wrong size though Cry

Did you buy your true size in the paraboot?
