I'm looking for a video/graphics editor. Just sub contracting work, bit on the side type stuff….not much.

A friend of mine mentioned he used uni students before(leeds met), as they were keen and cheap. So that sounds good, but where would be the best place to post the job offering? He said he had a link but can't remember it, anyone know of a forum where jobs like this are posted?

Would Freelancer, People Per Hour, Upwork be worth trying, or else try emailing the department within the uni to see if they'd email the students for you, would be good experience for the students so can't see them being unwilling to. Or else see if there's a Facebook group for the course and post in there.

Bill

Try - www.studentgems.com

You have to pay a small amount to advertise. I hired a web developer and a videographer dead cheap for a project. Work was top quality.

Also for cheap contractors try upwork.com . I have hired a videographer and transcriber through here. Again good work quality, quick and cheap.

skip the 30,000 waiting list for a monzo card with a .ac.uk email address. probably the most decent debit/forex card you could ever transition from wallet to ATM

Mrs has got a Bsc Hons from Portsmouth and has decided to carry on to do her Masters in Social Work. She's been offered an unconditional offer from Sussex Uni which shes happy with and will accept, but the student finance/loans/bursary situation is bugging the fuck out of me and making her think she can't afford to go.

She's been told that she will be given a £5,000 per year loan with no extras. This £5,000 has to be used to pay off the £7,700 yearly fees + living expenses while she studies. There has to be some error here? How can anyone be expected to complete a masters degree being left £2,700 down each year before they've paid a penny of rent/transport/books/food etc?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Cheers

She's not been long out of Portsmouth. I just struggle to believe that they're leaving people so fu*ked if they dont have any savings or rich mummy and daddy to put them through?

Is the Masters not part time? Can she not work alongside it to make up the difference?

unfortunately that is just how it is, if it isnt a sponsored MSc outside of STEM subjects you will get shafted. she can probably apply for a personal development loan (co-op offer them)
